The Fair was inaugurated by Mr. T.C. Venkat Subramanian, Chariman & Managing Director, Export-Import Bank of India, Mumbai at 11.00 a.m on the 16th December 2004.

The India Pavilion “Tool Mart” sponsored by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organisation) aimed at developing and promoting the Indian Hand tool Industry, particularly in the Small Scale Sector, in terms of technological development and promotion of exports. Further, the very fact that nearly 40% of the exhibitors were drawn from overseas is a clear manifestation of the success attending to the earlier IIHT Expos held in 2002 & 2003.

A massive advertisement campaign was undertaken in relevant International / Indian Trade Magazines and Newspapers as can be seen from the enclosed clippings. This has generated a large number of key Business Visitors to the Show.
Conclusion
The IIHT Expo 2004 was an astounding success in as much as it not only attracted a large number of quality visitors but also greatly enabled the Exhibitors to secure a large number business enquiries, which are expected to materialize into orders sooner or later.
With India witnessing the highest growth in building construction and automotive industry during the last two decades and also offering a large consumer market for hardware, It is hoped that the next edition of IIHT Expo 2005 is bound to provide an excellent opportunity for business partnerships, joint ventures and technology transfers. |
